Dr. Yongli Huang: President and Cofounder
Yongli has more than twelve years of industrial MEMS design and project lead experience
with an additional five years of research experience. Prior to cofounding Kolo, Yongli was a
principal engineer and a project leader at BEI Technologies, Inc. Yongli helped develop
the CMUT technology as a Ph.D. student at Stanford University and was a research associate
at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China. Yongli
holds five patents with more than twenty patents pending. He has more than twenty
publications in internationally recognized journals and conference proceedings. Yongli
received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering, his M.S. from University
of Hawaii in Electrical Engineering, and his B.S. from Fudan University in Physics.
Dr. B.T. Pierre Khuri-Yakub: Technical Advisor and Cofounder
Pierre is a professor of electrical engineering at Stanford University. Honored as IEEE Fellow,
he is the most recognized professor in the field of micromachined ultrasonic transducers and
systems and is the pioneer of CMUT technology. He holds 72 patents and has more than 400
publications. Pierre successfully cofounded General Science and Technology (acquired by
EDC) and Sensys Instruments (acquired by Thermawave, Inc.) He is on the board of directors
for multiple companies. Pierre received his Ph.D. from Stanford University, his M.S. from
Dartmouth College, and his B.S. from the American University of Beirut.
